About Us


The Society of Emotional Intelligence (SoEI) is a nonprofit 501(c) (3) professional association. It was founded in 2009 by Dr. Hank Clemons. SoEI is dedicated to bringing emotional intelligence into practice in all walks of life including schools, families, organizations, and communities.

Our goal is to grow the effectiveness and impact of our members through sharing of ideas, experiences, knowledge and interactive programs featuring best-class thought leaders from not only EI but a broad range of disciplines that include but not limited to: conflict management, peace-making, mediation, diversity, coaching and leadership.

The How
  1. Build a network of EI advocates around the globe through chapters and partnerships.
  2. Foster the use of EI through modeling, mentoring, coaching and training.
  3. Expand the knowledge of our members by being inclusive and open all EI models and approaches
  
The Society of Emotional Intelligence encourages sharing and mutual learning by its members and embraces the broad range of their diversity. If you or your organization is not a member, consider joining us.

Chapters

SoEI has chapters that offer local activities. The purpose of a chapter is to provide a local forum for your personal and professional development; provide an opportunity to develop your leadership, managerial, public speaking and group decision-making skills; provide a local networking arena .Professional and student chapters are welcome. National Leadership Team

Dr. Donna Elam is a nationally recognized authority in diversity and cultural competence research and training for educational, business, governmental, and community agencies. She is President/CEO of ELI, Elam Leadership Institute, a national think tank for leadership development for educational institutions working with diverse populations to address achievement and connectedness of all stakeholders. She is honored to sit as Educational Advisor for the Dr. C.T. Vivian’s leadership, community 


Mark Gross is President at Leadership Services, Ltd. LSL offers one-on-one leadership coaching, employee/culture surveys, and management development workshops. We deliver services in effective leadership and communication practices to business professionals with a focus on executives, managers, and high-level individual contributors. We tailor our services to the company culture with an eye toward assessment of individual/team potential and closing the gap to high performance. 


Dr. Mark VanDenHende is a Senior Executive and community college leader with more than 20 years of success spanning teaching and learning at every level.  Dr. Mark Van Den Hende has extensive experience in collaborative leadership for educational organizations with networking, strategic partnerships, growth management, outsourcing, and international relations.

Dr. Mark VanDenHende has held leadership positions abroad - at Bermuda College (located in Bermuda, a British Overseas Territory) and in the USA - at South Georgia State College, South Puget Sound Community College, Cascadia College-University 


Dr. Ravi Rao is an expert in HR, Leadership, Talent, Change, and Emotional Neuroscience
